Five Women-Centric Bollywood Offering of 2012!

Bollywood’s sudden passion for women-centric films reflected through its successive releases in the year 2012! Here’s a quick recapitulation of the most hyped five !

#1  Kahaani

Vidya Balan’s pregnant belly and Sujoy Ghosh‘s fertile story was a win-win thriller all the way! An expectant lady and a hair pin never appeared so empowering and deadly before!

#2 Dangerous Ishq

Karishma Kapoor‘s  comeback with Vikram Bhatt through past life regression sessions was indeed  ‘dangerous’ .  Love was never this awful and regressive !

Fiery Five of 2012 Bollywood !

#3 Heroine

Kareena Kapoor‘s heroine act was stuffed with hell lot of medical condition than any innovation! Dear Mr. Madhur Bhandarkar remember the old saying- repetition kills novelty?

#4 English Vinglish

Gauri Shinde’s drama  successfully de-colonizes a ‘home-entrepreneur’ as well as Sridevi, the actor (who ,  apart from Sadma, had  barely managed to move beyond that artificial accent and glamour doll image in her previous innings)!

#5 Aiyyaa

The ‘sniffy’ affair never managed to attract the right whiffs.  And by the time sniffers and makers (Rani Mukerji &  Sachin Kundalkar ) leave your company you are left with a chocked brain ! [ Read my observations on Aiyyaa here]

The films are listed according to their release date and does not reflect the hierarchical order of my preference. But my preference (s) are very apparent aren’t they 😉 . Which is your favourite among these?

Please feel free to lash out or appreciate.
